What is Distance Reiki Healing?
Did you know that you could receive a relaxing powerfully healing Reiki session from the comfort of your own home? Distance healing is something that can be easily done and the result is equally as profound as an in-person Reiki session.
We are all made up of energy and energy is not limited by time or distance which is the reason sessions can be performed without the practitioner and client being in the same space. There is no limit to the distance Reiki energy can travel.
A Reiki practitioner (Level II or Master) has received the required Placement or Attunement which activates the ability to link with energy at any point in space and time. This link is what is used when a practitioner assists clients with healing past traumas or addictions as well as sending Reiki to future events (which we will cover in another post). All that is required to facilitate connection with your energy is providing the practitioner with a photo of yourself or if you prefer, the practitioner could simply write your name on a small piece of paper. Either of these methods work well for connecting to your energy. The connection is truly built with intention, the photo or name is helpful.
A distance healing session can be done in a variety of ways:
- Using any of the meeting platforms available on the internet
- Over the phone
- A Proxy
- Visualization
You and your practitioner should discuss and together make a decision which will be the preferred method.
Distance session times are also varied, lasting anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes.
Once the type of communication and the session length have been determined, an appointment can be arranged. Then at the appointed time, the practitioner and client spend a few minutes discussing any issues or goals the client would like to address. Please note – issues and/or goals could also be discussed during scheduling enabling the Reiki treatment to begin at the appointment time. This is especially convenient for shorter session times.
When the session begins, communication is paused and the client makes themselves comfortable by either sitting or lying down quietly for the duration of the session. Once the session is completed, the practitioner and the client spend a couple of minutes sharing any issues that may have arisen during the session. The closing conversation can be done later in the day if the client chooses, as some people fall asleep during the session opting to touch base a few hours after the session.
Distance sessions can also be done while the client is at work. If the client doesn’t have a lot of time, a 15 minute session can be arranged in the same manner as explained above. When the session begins the client could sit quietly at their desk or any convenient place where the activity is moderately low for the duration of the session. Again, if preferred the practitioner and the client could plan to chat for a few minutes later in the day in the event any issues arose during the session.
While it may seem difficult to believe the benefits of a Reiki session can be achieved without sharing the same space as the practitioner, I promise you will receive the healing energy. I encourage you to start with a 15 or 30 minute distance Reiki session to see if it is right for you.
Wishing You Peace, Love & Light –
